Inspirations

MaryJack Studios was named after the company’s two defining inspirations, Jackson and MaryAnn. The company came to be through the sole desire of artist Laura Hescock who wanted to use her children as an inspiration for her work.
Bold and daring colors would represent MaryAnn’s ambition and drive. Sincere and endearing prose would mimic Jackson’s hope and compassion. Unique compositions would be telling of their discerning minds, and sparkle and embellishments could capture their energy and light. Intelligent and thoughtful images needed to be balanced with elements of childish inhibition and wonder. All of these parts would make up the whole in each piece of the MaryJack collection. Hescock then just took out her brush and started putting what was in her heart down onto the canvas.
Creating a unified collection that was not only a tribute to her two children but also representational to the feelings every parent felt for their child was the exciting challenge that she focused on for her work. The MaryJack collection has struck a chord with other parents who view Hescock’s art with the same wishful and amazed view of their children as her work illustrates.
Everything beautiful has a source of inspiration.
